Outstanding work in programming and academics earned Millsaps College sororities recognition from the Coalition for Women's Leadership during its 2017 conference in Atlanta.
The work of Millsaps Panhellenic Association, which governs the five sororities on campus, with the End It Movement that sheds light on slavery and its sexual assault/bystander intervention training was recognized.
Millsaps Panhellenic Association was also recognized for raising $1,700 to date for Circle of Sisterhood, an organization of individual alumnae and sorority communities on college campuses across North America engaged in a global humanitarian effort to remove barriers to education for girls in the developing world.
The scholarship of Millsaps Panhellenic Association members was recognized for achieving a cumulative community grade point average that was .124 higher than the women's average grade point on Millsaps campus.
Millsaps College was one of 10 schools at the conference that drew 70 college Panhellenic Associations from across the southeast, including SEC institutions and larger regional universities as well as elite colleges.
Members of the Millsaps Panhellenic Association include Alpha Kappa Alpha, Chi Omega, Tri Delta, Kappa Delta, and Phi Mu.
