Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite" was designed by Peter
and Jarmila Zapletal. The pair have won countless awards for their
puppetry work including regional and national Emmy awards. The show
is an exciting way to introduce children to this timeless story,
classical music, and the art of puppetry. Over seventy puppets and
animated objects interact on stage with a real-life narrator, Dr.
Drosselmeyer, to create the feel of a big screen animated cartoon.
Clara, the magical Nutcracker, the marching penguins, dancing Russian
bears, snowmen, Pulchinellas, the mice and their king, and many
more characters create a whirlwind of colors to bring laughter and
joy of the season to children's faces.
