New Atheism
11:30am-12:00pm
Olin 100
A new philosophical theory of a "godless morality" is in Europe and is spreading quickly into urban centers all across America. This theory is called "New Atheism" and has gained great popularity through Richard Dawkins' New York Times bestseller The God Delusion. Many have found his arguments convincing…but not everyone. In fact, many Christians have responded to Dawkins arguments and have sought to clear the air of what they believe to be misrepresentation, faulty logic, and false assumptions in Dawkins' book. MCF and Thursday's is pleased to sponsor a debate between Dr. Ted Ammon, one of Millsaps own Associate Professors of Philosophy, and Mr. David Robertson, pastor of St. Peter's Free Church of Scotland in Dundee, on "Can a godless morality exist?"
