The Millsaps Singers will present Mozart’s "Requiem in D minor," the composer’s final work for chorus and orchestra, on Friday, March 28. The concert will take place in the Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall on campus at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, though $5 donations will be welcomed at the door. The concert will open with a performance by the Millsaps Chambers Singers of David Bobrowitz and Steven Porter’s rock cantata “The Creation.” Featuring Ben Tomlinson on piano, Jacob Gibson on guitar, Susan Landry on bass and Bud Berthold on percussion, the 24-voice Chamber Singers will recount the Genesis story of the creation of the world.
The 70-voice Millsaps Singers’ rendition of Mozart’s "Requiem" will follow, with featured soloists Cheryl Coker (soprano), Lester Senter Wilson (alto), Marc Foster (tenor) and James Martin (bass).
