Millsaps professor and Eudora Welty biographer Suzanne Marrs will appear on the award-winning NPR radio program “Selected Shorts,” which was recorded on May 7 in New York City.
Writer Ann Patchett will host the one-hour live show, and actresses Marion Seldes, Sloane Shelton and Kathryn Markey will read Welty’s “Lily Daw and the Three Ladies,” “The Key” and “A Piece of News.”
“Selected Shorts” features well-known actors from stage, screen and television bringing classic and new short stories to life. The program is recorded live at New York’s Symphony Space.
“Selected Shorts” airs on Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s HD station WMPN-FM 91.3 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and is also available online at www.mpbonline.org or http://www.symphonyspace.org/multimedia/audio. Eudora Welty: A Tribute in Short Stories is set to air on May 25.
