Energy will be the focus of Fall Forum 2008, sponsored by the Millsaps College Else School of Management and scheduled Sept. 25, 2008, at 8 a.m. in the Leggett Special Events Center on the Millsaps campus.
Louis Crane, chairman and chief executive officer of Orleans Capital Management, will speak about “The Energy Odyssey.” Crane has 31 years of experience in investment management as well as broad experience in international business. Before forming Orleans Capital Management in 1991, Crane was the senior fixed income manager at a major regional bank and had worked as chief investment officer for two insurance companies. He began his career with Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York.
The CFA Society of Mississippi is sponsor of the forum. “We think that individuals and professionals alike will benefit from Mr. Crane’s expertise and discussion,” said Heath Jordan, president of the CFA Society of Mississippi.
Howard McMillan, dean of the Else School of Management at Millsaps, said energy was selected as the topic of the forum because of its impact on individuals, families and businesses.
The seminar will qualify for one continuing education credit under the guidelines of the CFA Institute Continuing Education Program.
Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., with the program starting at 8:45 a.m. Cost is $15 per person, which is payable at the door.
