Millsaps’ James Martin to Perform in Love in the Afternoon

James Martin, instructor of voice at Millsaps College, will be one of four musicians in this year’s Valentines’ Day program Love in the Afternoon presented by The Mississippi Vocal Arts Ensemble. Sponsored by the Mississippi Opera, the program is filled with highlights from the most passionate musical moments of opera.

Other members of The Mississippi Vocal Arts Ensemble are Maryann Kyle, Sarah Mabary and Marc Foster. Formed in the spring of 2007, the quartet has delighted audiences around the state in diverse and welcoming concerts with a unique mix of rarely heard gems, classical favorites, popular standards, vocal jazz and operatic hits.

Love in the Afternoon opens Saturday, February 14, 4:30 pm, at Belhaven College Center for the Arts. Single tickets are on sale now and range from $15 to $25 with discounts for seniors, students, groups and children!
