| The Southern Film Circuit Series kicks off Monday, Sept. 18 at Millsaps College. Independent film director Danielle Beverly will appear at the screening of her documentary entitled “Learning to Swallow” at 7:30 p.m. in the Ford Academic Complex Room 215. The event is free and open to the public.
“Learning to Swallow” follows Patsy, a charismatic artist with bipolar disorder, as she struggles to rebuild her life after a suicide attempt destroys her digestive system. This riveting film takes the audience on Patsy’s rocky quest for redemption as she tries to come to terms with her condition, her family and herself—and rediscovers her creative voice along the way.
The 2006-2007 Southern Circuit is a program of the Southern Arts Federation in collaboration with the South Carolina Arts Commission.
