The 40th season of the Millsaps Arts & Lecture Series continues Tuesday, January 29, with its tribute to Southern songwriters. The program will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission at the door, and students will be admitted free. This Arts & Lecture Series program salutes talented Southerners in all the creative facets of music, writing, producing and performing. The evening’s program will feature Neilson Hubbard, Garrison Starr and Molly Thomas.
| Jackson native Neilson Hubbard started writing songs in 1992 while at Ole Miss. He moved to Nashville, and in 2005 his group Strays Don’t Sleep brought out a self-titled release to great reviews. He currently has a new solo album entitled “I Love Your Muscles.” |

| Garrison Starr started her musical journey in Memphis. After seven years in Los Angeles, she now lives in Nashville, where she released her new Vanguard CD, “The Sound of You and Me.” |

| Violinist and Mississippi native Molly Thomas showcases her playing, compelling voice and stage presence in her solo album “Shoot the Sky,” a very personal look at her life. |
