2012-2013 Season
Distracted
By Lisa Loomer
Thursday, November 8 - Sunday, November 11, 2012
Thursday - Saturday: shows start at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday matinee: show starts at 2 p.m.A poignant comedy about raising a child with attention deficit disorder, this play will be moving to everyone and also of special interest to students of psychology, sociology, neuroscience, and education.
Note from Dr. Stacey DeZutter, Director of the Theatre Program:
We expect the play to be of high interest to our students, many of whom have personal experience with the topic. To dig deeper into the subject and offer a chance for audience members to address questions to experts, we have put together a panel discussion, which will occur after the performance on Friday, November 9. The panel will feature clinical psychologist Dr. Molly Clark from UMMC (adjunct in Education at Millsaps); our own clinical psychology professor, Dr. Katie Hahn; a Millsaps student who grew up with ADHD; and a parent of a child with ADHD. I will serve as facilitator.
Venue: Millsaps College, Ford Academic Complex Room 215
Admission: $5 (Millsaps students, faculty/staff, and seniors), $10 (General admission)
