Millsaps will begin mailing tickets
to faculty, staff, and students ,via campus mail, starting the week
of March 15th. General public tickets will also be mailed the week
of March 15th.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and support
of the inaugural presentation of the Nova speaker series.
As we consider the goals of the Nova
program, we are committed to offer the opportunity to view the Goodall
presentation to as many students as possible. This objective stems
from our long tradition of providing an extraordinary learning environment
and educational opportunity to our students. In order to assure
that we can seat more students than any other constituent, we have
established the following ticket policy.
General Public Tickets
A limited number
of tickets, costing $10 each, are available to the general public.
All tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 8:30 a.m. To
reserve tickets, call (601) 974-1020.
Faculty Tickets
All full-time, part-time and emeriti
faculty who desire a ticket to Dr. Goodall's presentation may receive
one ticket. To request a ticket, faculty must register
via the Millsaps web site between February 26 at 8:30 a.m. and March
7 at 4:30 p.m. Phone calls and e-mail will not be accepted. Emeriti
faculty, who still have a Millsaps user name, may use the web site
or contact Rebecca Cockrell at (601) 974-1023.
Staff Tickets
All staff who desire a ticket may register
for one ticket via the Millsaps web site. Up to 100 staff tickets
will be made available. If less than 100 staff request a ticket,
each request will be filled. If more than 100 staff request a ticket,
we will conduct a random selection of 100 staff members via computer
sorting. To request a ticket, staff must register via the Millsaps
web site between February 26 at 8:30 a.m. and March 7 at 4:30 p.m.
Phone calls and e-mail will not be accepted.
Student Tickets
All students interested in viewing
Dr. Goodall's presentation in the Christian Center will be required
to register for a ticket via the
Millsaps web site. We have allocated 300 tickets to students, the
most of any group, and nearly one-third the entire capacity. Should
less than 300 students request tickets, all orders will be filled.
The remaining tickets will go to a pool to meet additional demand
from staff, faculty and the general public. Should more than 300
students request tickets, we will conduct a random selection of
students via computer sorting. All students interested in viewing
Dr. Goodall's lecture in person must register via the Millsaps web
site between February 26 at 8:30 a.m. and March 7 at 4:30 p.m. Phone
calls and e-mail will not be accepted.
Closed Circuit Viewing
We will provide closed circuit broadcast
of Dr. Goodall's lecture in the AC Recital Hall and will be able
to offer such viewing in AC 215, Olin 100 and Murrah 200, if needed.
If you are interested in free tickets for the closed circuit presentation,
please call 974-1020. A ticket will be required for the closed
circuit viewing.
Registration on the Web
To register
your desire for a ticket you must use the Millsaps web page. Registration
will close at 4:30 p.m. on March 7. Tickets will be distributed
after Spring Break. The web address for ticket registration is www.millsaps.edu/nova/jglot.shtml.
In closing, we thank you again for
your patience and understanding. While not every person who desires
a seat in the live presentation will receive one, we hope that the
addition options being made available will allow all interested
individuals to view Jane Goodall’s presentation.
