The Evolution of Style in Western Music

LISTENING TO MUSIC ONLINE (Millsaps campus only)

All of the listening assignments this semester will be on NetJuke, which is only available to you from the Millsaps campus. Watch for updates on the announcements page.

Step 1: For access to NetJuke---

    • use the "e-mail address": style@millsaps.edu
    • your password is: listen

Step 2: find "Community" and open the "EVOLUTON of STYLE" playlist, for example.

Step 3: check the box (only one) for the selection you want to hear, then find "play selection," click it and listen to it [whatever media player you have set as your default should launch on your computer automatically]. Sometimes I will upload multiple files for a single work, in which case you should check all the relevant boxes for that work (making sure it's in order!) and then click "play selection."

You can also navigate the site by genre or artist (composers are listed in the "artist" column), or you may visit other "playlists" if you're curious about other music.
