| Janette
Sudderth is a versatile musician who works professionally as a pianist, cellist,
and organist. She holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University
(double major: piano and 'cello), where she studied cello with Martha Gerschefski
and piano with John Schneider. Her Master of
Music degree is from Midwestern State University (double major: piano and 'cello).
She has had additional study at the University of Texas with the renowned pianist
John Perry.
She came to Jackson Mississippi
in 1979 to teach strings in the public schools and to play cello in the Mississippi
Symphony. Since coming to Mississippi, she has been organist at churches of various
denominations. Janette is currently the organist/pianist at St. Richard of Chichester
Catholic Church. She has been the accompanist
at several local colleges, including Mississippi College, Belhaven, Jackson State
and now Millsaps. For two years, she served as Instructor of Piano at Jackson
State University. Janette has been Principal
Cellist in the Wichita Falls (TX) Symphony and is currently the Assistant Principal
Cellist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. piano:
