Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Martin have established the Raymond and Margery Martin Endowment for the Enhancement of Premedical Education at Millsaps with a gift of $1 million. The endowment will be used to support mentoring relationships for premed students through improvements in faculty development and equipment.

On March 25, President Harmon announced the gift to a crowd of more than 200 supporters at the College Awards Dinner. “The endowment will serve as the founding gift and cornerstone of a broader initiative to allow Mill- saps to maintain its position as the premier liberal arts program in the South for premedical and other health care professions,” Harmon said.

Dr. Martin, who was chosen as the 1999 Millsaps Alumnus of the Year, was featured in the winter issue of Millsaps Magazine and the spring issue of Century Update.
