Big Time! There can be no doubt that the Bobashela staff has made it. Representatives from the 1997-98 staff were invited to the Awards Convocation of the Annual College Media Con- vention held March 18 in New York.

The event was hosted by two of the most prestigious organizations in scholastic journalism, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) and College Media Advisers. Rhonda White, editor-in-chief, and Ashley Bass, assistant editor, accepted the Silver Crown award for the 1997-98 Bobashela.

Four hundred and five newspapers, 223 magazines, and 539 yearbooks entered the 1999 Crown Awards Program and from those entries, only six college news-papers, two magazines, and five yearbooks received Gold Crown Awards and 11 other publications received the Silver Crown Award, the second highest CSPA award.

Millsaps competed against universities whose budgets astounded the students who went to New York for the convocation. Other yearbook finalists were Indiana University, Cornell, Texas Tech, Pennsylvania State, Michi- gan, Kansas State, and Northwest Missouri State University.

The Bobashela staff and advisor Stan Magee worked many long, hard hours to produce the award-winning yearbook. Other students on the 1997-98 staff were Erica Woodall, assistant editor; Katye Bratton, publications office assistant; Jenny Cherryhomes, student life section editor; Brooks Brower, activities section editor; Kate Pearce, athletics section editor; Tammy Harvey, people section editor; Kim Niolet, Greek section editor; Laura Lane, index editor; and Elise Rinta, photo editor. Photographers were Brian Berry- hill, Candace Carlisle, Brent Harrolle, and Ryan Vincent. Corey Ford was advertising coordinator, and the advertising staff included Kim Pace, Sandi Pullen, Katye Bratton. Contributing staff were Michael Barham, Junko Fukuma, Carlen Bailey, Michelle Gueringer and Jenny Smith.
