| Southern Literary Festival Draws Large Audience U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky was the keynote speaker for the 1999 Southern Literary Festival, held at Millsaps on April 9-11. Three acclaimed Southern writers Ellen Douglas, Beth Henley, and Aleda Shirley also participated. Students and faculty from 27 Southern colleges and universities attended the annual festival, which featured writing workshops, a panel discussion, poetry and fiction readings, and creative writing competitions. |
