MBA Students Take Part
in National Competition

The Else School of Management sent students Vonda Allen, Traci Hayes, Kyna Lee, and Kristena Payne to Boston to participate in the National Black MBA Associ- ation case competition this spring.

The National Black MBA Association established the case competition in 1992 to increase student participation in its annual conference. The competition has evolved into a separate event, with 600 students having received more than $100,000 in scholarships.

This is the first year Millsaps has sponsored a team in the competition. Participating teams were given four weeks to review, analyze, and develop a formal presentation explaining a complicated business problem. The presentation was then given to a panel of judges representing corporations throughout the country.

The Millsaps students performed well in the competition and appreciated the opportunity to meet peers and business leaders. “We were able to network with other MBA students, as well as representatives from Fortune 500 companies and professors from prestigious institutions across the country,” says Kristena Payne. It was a valuable experience, the other students agree.
