Greek Week Focuses
on Unity and Service

Greek life can have a positive impact on college students, according to a new study at the Center for Advanced Social Research at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The study found that Greeks are more likely to stay in college, have a stronger commitment to their school, are more involved in their community, and perform at a higher level in the classroom than other students.

To showcase positive aspects of Greek life, Millsaps fraternities and sororities held their second annual Greek Week on March 1-4. The week-long celebration of Greek life, which coincided with National Fraternity and Sorority Greek Promotion Week, focused on unity among fraternal organizations and community service. The event benefited the Missis- sippi Children’s Cancer Clinic and Our House Teen Shelter.

Awards of Excellence were presented to Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Kappa Delta in honor of their commitment to scholarship, member development, and service.
