Fiske Guide Names
Millsaps to “Best College Buy” List Edward B. Fiske, former education editor for the New York Times and author of The Fiske Guide to Colleges, has released his list of “Best Buy” colleges and universities for 2000. Millsaps is one of only 20 private institutions in the nation named to the list. Millsaps has been selected for the guide every year since its inception in 1982; no other Mississippi institutions have ever been included. The Fiske Guide to Colleges praises the qualities that make Millsaps an excellent investment: the sense of community on campus among students, and between students and faculty; the quality of Millsaps professors as teachers and scholars; and the presence of Southern tradition coupled with a comprehensive consideration of the entire Western world.
