Kiplinger’s Ranks Millsaps 69th best value

Millsaps ranks 69th in value among U.S. private colleges, according to the September 1999 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine. Millsaps is the only Mississippi school named in the list of the Top 100 among the nation’s 1600 private colleges.

In its survey of “top quality education at an affordable cost,” Kiplinger’s rated schools based upon academic quality and financial aid data, including selectivity, admissions rates, and outcomes such as the percentage of students who pursue graduate studies.

Millsaps was 4th among colleges offering the most financial assistance through merit-based scholarships. “The best students aren’t always able to afford college tuition. We use our merit awards to recognize outstanding academic achievement and provide assistance to students who otherwise might not be able to attend Millsaps,” says John Gaines, Director of Admissions.
