Student-Athletes Win Halbrook Award Again

Millsaps athletes don’t have to chose between winning in the classroom or winning on the field – they do both.

Each year , the Mississippi Association of Colleges selects a Mississippi college or university to receive its David M. Halbrook Award. The award is given to the school with the highest graduation rate for athletes. Millsaps has won the prestigious award 10 out of the last 12 years. The Millsaps student-athlete graduation rate for those who came to the College in 1996 was 93%.

“We are very proud of this accomplishment by our student-athletes. This speaks well for the type of student-athletes we have at Millsaps College as well as to the support they receive from the faculty and the coaching staff as they strive for excellence in the classroom and in athletic competition,” says Athletic Director Ron Jurney.
