Southern Literary  
Festival on Campus 

Millsaps will host the Southern Literary Festival on April 9-10. Student and faculty representatives from several Southern 
colleges and universities will participate in readings, writing workshops, panel discussions, and creative writing competitions. 
     Greg Miller, President of the Southern Literary Festival Association and Chair of the Millsaps English Department, says, "In hosting the Festival, Millsaps will continue its long tradition of nurturing and celebrating literary excellence." 
     Poet Laureate of the United States Robert Pinsky will give the keynote address on Saturday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the AC Recital Hall. He is the author of five books of poetry, three books of prose, and a widely acclaimed translation of Dante’s Inferno. 
     The Southern Literary Festival Association has held festivals and literary competitions annually since 1937 to promote creative writing among college students. 
     Millsaps College received a  grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission in partial support of the festival.
