Major Partners, Parents
Newsletter, Launched
Millsaps has long believed that the success of its undergraduate students is greatly enhanced by a strong relationship between the College and parents. As an extension of this belief, Millsaps has launched Major Partners, a newsletter written solely for parents of current students. Released shortly before Christmas, the first issue includes articles on student leadership opportunities, career planning information, a timeline for declaring majors, advice to parents about how to handle the new "freedoms" students returning home for the holidays expect, and also an events calendar and construction update. Gary L. Fretwell, Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs, expects that Major Partners will lead to more informed and thus more involved parents, and will increase communication between the College and parents.
