Ingram Wins
NCAA Scholarship

Millsaps senior wide receiver Wes Ingram continues to rack-up NCAA awards. In January, the Jackson native was awarded one of 35 postgraduate scholarships given to NCAA Division I, II, and III athletes.
Ingram, a business administration major, has maintained a 3.65 grade point average while at the same time being a leader both on and off the field. Last fall, Ingram was selected as the NCAA Burger King National Scholar Athlete of the Week, and Millsaps was awarded a $10,000 scholarship in his honor.
Ingram completed his football career at Millsaps as the Majors career and single season receiving leader in several categories including touchdown receptions, receptions, and receiving yardage. He was a three-time first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection and an honorable mention All-American following the 1997 season.
With his selection, Ingram becomes just the fourth Millsaps football player to win a postgraduate scholarship, joining Edward Weller (1967), Russell Gill (1973), and David Harrison, Jr. (1992). Ingram also holds the honor of being the only football player from Mississippi or the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference to win the prestigious award this season.
The $5,000 NCAA postgraduate scholarships help student-athletes continue academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree. Ingram plans to pursue a master of divinity degree to prepare for a career in the ministry.
