Larsen and Campbell
Named Mellon Fellows

Two Millsaps professors have been named Mellon Technology Fellows by the Associated Colleges of the South (ACS). Through this fellowship, Dr. Connie Campbell, Associate Professor of Mathematics, and Dr. Carolee Larsen, Assistant Professor of Sociology, will establish a Multi-Disciplinary Statistics Website.
This website will become a common resource for teachers and students of statistics in several disciplines, providing tutorials, lecture notes, practice tests, links to "real life" data sets and other resources. It is expected to foster new ideas in using statistics, as it will eventually be opened to other ACS institutions to provide additional links and resources.
The fellowships provide a $2,500 stipend to faculty members developing technology-based materials for use in the classroom. The fellowships were made available through the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
