Women’s Studies   
Speaker Series Started 

Millsaps has begun a Women’s Studies faculty speaker series, "Oracles and Prophecies." In her October 27 lecture, "Women in Science: A Leaky Pipeline?," Biology professor Sarah Lea McGuire outlined factors that contribute to women’s success in the scientific fields. On December 1, Dr. Lisa Sigel of the History Department spoke on "Filth in the Wrong People’s Hands: Postcards and the Expansion of Pornography."  Diane Baker of the Else School delivered her talk, "Breaking Glass: The Women Who Make It to the Top in Business," on February 9. George Bey of the Anthropology Department will close the series on April 13 with "Images of Women in Classic Mayan Art."
