Intern Athletic Trainer

Position Description

This is a 10 month position (August - May) at Millsaps College, which is a NCAA Division III, private, four year, liberal arts college in Jackson, Mississippi. The position may be renewed for an additional year(s). The intern(s) will assist the staff athletic trainers in the coverage of the 18 varsity sports offered at Millsaps College.

Responsibilities include assisting with the day to day operations in the athletic training room, prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of injuries and developing administrative skills. This position will consist of travel with assigned sports, as well as home practice and competition coverage.

On campus housing and stipend is offered with this position. The intern(s) will have an opportunity to supplement his/her income by covering events for Mississippi Sports Medicine and working summer camps.


Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field, NATABOC certification by August 1, 2015, current first aid/CPR/AED certification required. Have, or be eligible for, the Mississippi State Athletic Trainer License. Candidate(s) must possess good communication skills.
