Career Center

For full-time and part-time employment services, we offer:

1) Online registration system

Employers may submit their company information and gain access to student/alumni resumes through College Central Network. Once employers are approved by Millsaps College Career Center, a password will be issued.

To begin, click here.

2) On-campus recruiting

On-campus recruiting allows the employer to identify qualified candidates for anticipated job openings and to schedule interviews on the Millsaps campus. Employers may choose to identify students through the prescreening or open sign-up methods.

      Prescreening:

  • Prescreening allows an employer to select candidates prior to the interview date.
  • Contact Tonya Craft (601.974.1346) to setup an on-campus interview date.
  • Schedule an on-campus date at least 3-4 weeks in advance.
  • Call to discuss interview dates and fax job description(s).
  • The Career Center will send resumes of eligible students; the employer will choose interview candidates; and the Career Center will put together your interview schedule.

      Open system:

The open system allows students to sign-up for interviews independently after meeting the employer’s eligibility requirements. The time frame is shorter than the prescreen method.

3) Referral services

Request student/alumni resumes by emailing or faxing a job description and requirements. The Career Center will
refer any applicable resumes located in our
registration system.

4) Full-time postings

Submit job opportunities on our registration system, College Central Network or fax descriptions to 601.974.1225. For further information, contact Tonya Craft or Betty Coleman by email or by phone 601.974.1215.

Listings are announced to students who may be qualified for the position. Listings are also sent to relevant faculty and academic departments.

5) Consultations

If you need assistance in formulating recruiting strategies, you may work directly with our professional staff to develop a tailored, comprehensive recruiting plan.

6) Annual career fair

A job fair is held annually each spring semester. It provides a setting for companies and organizations to recruit students for full-time employment.

The next fair is scheduled for spring semester 2006.

If interested, please contact Tonya Craft (601.974.1346) or Betty Coleman (601.974.1215) for more information.
