Our services include:
1)
Online registration system
Current
students and alumni of Millsaps College may register with our
online system, College Central Network. This system houses full-time,
part-time, and internship opportunities. Students may also upload
resumes for approved employers to view.

2)
On-campus recruiting
The
Career
Center brings employers to the Millsaps
College
campus for information sessions and on-campus interviewing. If
students are interested in submitting their resume for open positions,
activity is coordinated through the Career Center.
3)
Referral services
Student
and alumni resumes are referred at the employer’s request. The
Career
Center only refers registered students and alumni.
4)
Full-time
postings
All
full-time opportunities are listed on our registration system, College
Central Network. Listings
are announced to students who may be qualified for the position. Listings
are also sent to relevant faculty and academic departments.
6)
Annual job fair
A
job
fair is held annually each spring semester. It provides a setting
for companies and organizations to recruit students for full-time
employment.
The
next career fair is slated
for early spring semester 2006.
7)
Job search assistance
The
Career
Center staff assists students and alumni with resumes, cover letters,
and interview skills. These skills are the basic elements for any job
search.
Resumes:
The Career Center offers several books and free materials on writing
an effective resume. Resumes critiques are also available through
our online system.

Cover
Letters: The
Career
Center assists with writing and/or editing cover letters. Many resources
and examples may be found in our career library. However, the best advice
is to tailor the letter to each job opportunity. Form letters are not
viewed favorably by employers.

Interviews: The
best way to improve interview skills is to practice! The Career
Center team offers mock interview services to all students and
alumni. We also have resources that give job seekers insight into
the interview process.

sure to look for Mock Interview Day each fall and
spring. This event brings employers to campus to conduct practice
interviews with interested students.
