The Millsaps Multicultural Affairs Organization Prize is awarded for the best Stylus submissions of literary or artistic work that best represents issues of diversity.
The MCA Diversity group seeks out ways for individuals and our community to solve issues involving "negative" diversity while working to promote "positive" diversity. The Multicultural Affairs group offers a prize for the best literary or artistic work submitted to Stylus that expresses diversity in relationship to humanity and our global connection, with specifics on what individuals would strive to do in their own "world" community to achieve "positive" diversity. MCA rewards artists for sharing their thought on how we are all ultimately connected as human beings.
A $50 prize will be awarded to the best creative work in this category.
Please indicate that your submission is to be considered for the Multicultural Affairs Organization Prize, your name as you wish to have it printed in the journal, if your work is selected, and all necessary contact information.
Selection
Stylus staffs Millsaps students that anonymously - and with due respect - select the work "most appealing" to the magazine and the College community. Although the staff is composed of exceptionally well-read and capable people, we are not issuing a "Best Of" or "Most Innovative" project; all selections are, inevitably, a matter of disputable taste. Consequentially, we may unwittingly pass over very accomplished pieces.
Please keep in mind that staffers do read submitted works in conjunction with other academic assignments, and there is a limited amount of space in each issue. See above for word count limits on written submissions.
