Graded Assignments:
There is no
excuse for late
assignments.
If you have
an insurmountable
problem, call
me (office:
1321) or E-mail
before the assignment
is due and I
will help you
make other arrangements.
A call after
the assignment
is due will
not help (this
means a "0").
-
Make-up
Morgue:
With each graded
lab, submit
a minimum of
four (4) pictures
from magazines,
newspapers,
etc. Morgues
presented on
time, appropriately
mounted on construction
or other heavy
paper and placed
in a notebook
or portfolio
will get full
credit (2 pts.).
Be prepared
to analyze your
morgues orally.
-
Lab Hours:
During this
semester, you
will be assigned
as a make-up
assistant for
one of The Players
Productions.
One week after
the close of
your show you
must turn in
a 1 page report
detailing your
work on the
production.
A grade will
be given for
your participation.
As a team you
are required
to inventory
makeup supplies,
analyze the
production requirements,
order makeup
at least 2 weeks
prior to "tech"
(through the
T.D.), attend
rehearsals and
performances
and assist in
making up the
performers.
-
Cards:
Annotated
reading cards,
submitted for
each play. Annotations
are to include,
but are not
limited to:
1.
Your name,
play's title
and author,
2. genre,
theme, and
period, number
of acts/ scenes,
and settings.
3. Major characters
with a character
analysis,
total number
of men and
women.
4. Synopsis
including
dramatic structural
elements:
point of attack,
crises, climax,
and denouement.
5. Your critical
evaluation
of the text
and makeup
requirements
called for
by the script.
-
Reviews:
During the semester,
you need to
see two (2)
shows: plays,
films or television
specials (other
than work done
here at Millsaps).
Written reviews
will be at least
2 pages, typed,
including a
specific analysis
of make-up techniques
used, and your
evaluation of
the success
or failure of
those techniques.
Do
NOT give a plot summary or acting
review;
we are interested in a make-up analysis
and evaluation!
