Academic Departments

2013 Major Declaration Day

At the end of their sophomore year at Millsaps, students officially declare their chosen academic major. Each department on campus has a small "party" to welcome the new students to the major.

Division of Arts and Letters

Consistently recognized for its strong academic programs, the Division of Arts and Letters seeks to help Millsaps students find their own perspective, voice, and vision. From traditional majors like English and history to interdisciplinary majors such as religious studies-sociology/anthropology, students graduate prepared for a lifetime of learning.

Division of Sciences

Faculty members in the Division of Sciences constantly challenge Millsaps students both inside and outside the classroom. From geological studies in Yellowstone to cultural studies in Tanzania, students shadowing local physicians in the medical mentoring program, students are given multiple opportunities to put their classroom knowledge to practical use. Small classes and personal attention from faculty members ensure that all students are active and engaged in their education.

Else School of Management

The Else School of Management introduces students to business principles and practices in the broader context of a liberal arts education so students graduate equipped to excel in many professional arenas. Multiple internship opportunities offer students real-world experience and students may complete a master's of business administration with just one additional year of study. Plus, the Else School is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business - representing the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
