Pathways

At Millsaps, we go beyond just equipping you for your career, we help you discover who you want to be. Beginning when you first set foot on campus as a student, the Pathways program guides you through a four-year exploration of academic interests, professional curiosity, and experiences.

Pathways offers six specialized tracks to help you develop and explore. You can choose from any track and switch tracks as you grow, and you do not have to choose a path that necessarily aligns with your area of study.

As a first-year student, you will begin with the Introduction to Pathways course. This course integrates habits of personal and academic success with strategies for career exploration, allowing you to begin your undergraduate education by reviewing past experiences, identifying present interests, and considering future goals. The course will culminate in choosing a Pathway that will provide you with a career-focused learning community to guide your curiosity and inform decisions around life planning.

In addition to offering a variety of career categories, Pathways guides you through experiences that will build confidence, widen your network and put your interests into practice:

  • Self-assessment
  • Coaching
  • Soft skills training
  • Research opportunities
  • Internships
  • Business & alumni networking
  • Faculty, staff and alumni mentorships
