Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at http://www.fafsa.gov/.
The student and parent should each request an FSA ID at https://fsaid.ed.gov for an electronic signature on the FAFSA.
Submit the 2015-2016 FAFSA to apply for aid for academic terms from fall 2015 through summer 2016.
Submit the 2016-2017 FAFSA to apply for aid for academic terms from fall 2016 through summer 2017.
The priority deadline for financial aid is March 1. Most of the information required on the FAFSA will come from the prior year’s tax return. The FAFSA should be submitted after January 1 when all pertinent tax information has been gathered. If you are unable to complete tax returns by March 1, you should make estimates on the FAFSA in order to meet the priority deadline.
Methodist Scholarships and Loans
Methodist students may apply for scholarships by submitting the Millsaps Application for United Methodist Scholarships by March 1. They may also apply for outside scholarships and loans by submitting applications to the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. Students must re-apply by deadlines each year.
E. H. Sumners Grant
Students who are permanent legal residents of Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Montgomery, or Webster counties should complete the Sumners Grant Application online at http://www.sumnersgrant.com each year. Terms, conditions, and deadlines are posted on the Sumners website.
Mississippi Scholarships and Grants
Students who are residents of Mississippi should complete the Mississippi Office of Financial Aid Application online at http://riseupms.com after January 1 each year.
Students who submit the FAFSA are subject to selection for verification by the U.S. Department of Education. Those selected will be required to submit additional documentation, including:
