When to Apply

We accept applications from transfer students on a rolling basis. However, there are some important deadlines to keep in mind depending on when you plan to begin your journey at Millsaps.

Please note: Students for whom English is a second language should submit results of the IELTS or TOEFL (Millsaps’ code is 1471).

  • Completed Common Application or Millsaps College Application
  • Official college transcript
  • ACT or SAT Test Scores—our ACT code is 2212 and SAT code is 1471; we also accept scores appearing on official high school transcripts
  • Official copy of high school transcript or GED

Our Review Process

At Millsaps, we take a holistic approach in our application review process so we can learn all about you. We review your academic record, completed course work, academic performance, prior school background and standardized test scores.

Since most of our applicants are high achieving scholars, we also consider any submitted biographical information, extracurricular activities, personal essays and recommendations.

Admissions and scholarship notification will be mailed on a rolling basis as your application files are completed.

Next Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

You’ve been admitted—congratulations! Within two weeks, let us know if you plan on joining our community. We will also need your enrollment deposit to secure your spot no later than two weeks after admission notification.

At Millsaps, we value the work you have already done. That’s why we offer guaranteed admission and scholarships to qualified students who apply to Millsaps! All admitted students will be considered for merit-based scholarships.

We also offer scholarships specifically for transfer students, too!

  • Transfer Scholarship: Transfer students with at least a 3.2 GPA and 30 transferrable credit hours will be able to receive at least $15,000 in scholarship funds, along with a $6,000 housing grant toward on-campus residence halls.
  • Phi Theta Kappa Member Scholarship: Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members with a GPA of 3.5 and 30 transferable hours are eligible for the TRANSFERmation Scholarship, in addition to a $5,000 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, along with the $6,000 residence hall grant.
  • Phi Theta Kappa Officer Scholarship: Phi Theta Kappa officers are eligible for the TRANSFERmation Scholarship, the $5,000 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, as well as an additional $6,000 and additional $7,000 housing grant. Verification of your role in PTK can be sent to admissions@millsaps.edu.

We recommend all students, regardless of family income, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before July 1. Our FAFSA code is 002414. You should receive your federal aid package after July 15.
