Unfortunately, the water pressure on campus is lower this morning than anticipated. We ask that all students, faculty and staff be as judicious as possible with water use in the following ways:

Showers:

Students are urged to use the gender-specific shower trailers in the parking lot of the Academic Complex from 7:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m.

Restrooms:

All students, faculty and staff are asked to use first floor restrooms only in all buildings. If a toilet does not flush, please email info@millsaps.edu with the time and location of the restroom. All community members are asked to utilize the port-a-potties available throughout campus as often as possible. Locations include Olin Circle, behind Susanna Hall, in between the south gate and Ezelle Hall, near New South Hall/Campus Safety, on the plaza between the College Center and the HAC, in the parking lot of the Academic Complex and at the Windgate Visual Arts Center.

Laundry:

We also ask that residential students and staff not use laundry facilities on campus but instead go to The Laundry Fairy, 1046 Greymont Street. Residential students and staff have the ability to do their laundry free of charge. Simply take your laundry, soap and Millsaps ID between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to wash your clothes and Millsaps will pick up the tab. Students who do not have a vehicle and can’t carpool safely with another student should email studentlife@millsaps.edu to make travel arrangements.

Finally, a boil water notice is still in effect for Hinds County. Do not drink the water on campus. Drinking water, toiletries, hand sanitizer, baby wipes and snacks continue to be available on campus 24-7 near the student life front desk. Community members are reminded to bring a backpack or bag to help transport these items back to residence halls.

The college’s emergency management team will continue to monitor the situation and will update the community as details develop. Email info@millsaps.edu with any questions. In case of an emergency call Campus Safety at 601-974-1234.
