To the Millsaps campus community,
Executive Staff has endorsed the COVID-19 Response Committee’s recent recommendation to make face masks on campus optional, with the exception of requiring masks in indoor classrooms at the discretion of the faculty member responsible for the classroom. This change will go into effect on Monday, February 28, 2022.
All students, faculty and staff are asked to be respectful and courteous of individuals who may request that peers and colleagues wear masks when in close proximity. Data demonstrate that certain types of masks offer protection to the wearer when others are unmasked; specifically, double masking or the N95 mask offer the greatest protection to the wearer when others are not masked.
Also effective Monday, February 28, all available on-campus space may be rented and used by the general public and the college may host events for general public attendance. Any request for use and/or rental of an on-campus space should be directed to eventscheduling@millsaps.edu.
The college’s COVID-19 Response Committee will continue to monitor COVID-19 case numbers and CDC recommendations and reserves the right to change these guidelines as necessary. The Wesson Health Center is also offering free COVID-19 tests to all students, faculty and staff during regular clinic hours.
