The Else School of Management at Millsaps College invites applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will teach five (5) courses per academic year and should be able to teach a variety of economics courses through multiple instructional modalities, including, but not limited to, principles of economics, intermediate microeconomics, and introductory econometrics, intended for an undergraduate or MBA audience. Candidates able to offer courses in an interdisciplinary data science program are especially encouraged.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching economics to undergraduate and graduate (MBA) students. The Else School of Management supports teaching, service and research goals by maintaining a balanced faculty load commensurate with expectations of excellence in teaching and research. The normal teaching load for a faculty member in the Else School is five courses per year. Else programs have gained a distinction through the faculty’s commitment to quality teaching and research, experiential learning, international emphasis, and close student-faculty involvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics. Strong candidates who are ABD may also be considered
- Record of, or potential for, scholarly productivity
