The Millsaps Office of Intercultural and International Student Programs and Services was created to help achieve and sustain a greater diversity among Millsaps students, faculty, and staff. IISPS's efforts include assisting and supporting students in their development regarding social understanding and interaction between diverse groups within the community. Serious consideration, dialogue, and efforts are not limited to differences of race and ethnicity, but include religion, sexual orientation, gender, and physical ability as well.
This means working with all areas of the campus: students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the community at large, for the people of Millsaps ought to be and are our best resources. IISPS pulls from a pool of key individuals who provide ideas, motivation, and help to enrich program initiatives. By applying an umbrella approach toward effectuating program goals, every program and activity is interwoven and related to that commitment ... the appreciation of diversity.
Below are services provided by the Office of Intercultural and International Student Programs and Services for students, faculty, and staff in an effort to continue to foster a respectful and inclusive environment. The CARE Annex
The CARE Annex was created to provide and maintain a studious, yet stress-free area for those interested in the enrichment of global themes. It is located in the area outside of the office of MCA and houses literature on study abroad, various maps and other diversity reference materials.
Frequently cultural exhibitions displaying a different cultural experience are offered. The exhibitions provide a glimpse of what we are culturally and what we share and have in common.
