Business Advantage Program
The Business Advantage Program is a 15-week certificate program which teaches the essentials of business to successful professionals who have no prior education in business. Graduates include architects, artists, high school teachers, public officials, members of the medical community, and leaders of non-profits. The website includes video testimonials describing how the Business Advantage Program has benefitted the professional and personal lives of previous participants.
Innovate Mississippi and the Angel Fund Network
ELSEWorks partners with Innovate Mississippi, a nonprofit organization with the mission to drive innovation and technology-based economic development for Mississippi. The Angel Fund Network is administered by Innovate Mississippi and is hosted on campus. It is comprised of accredited individual and institutional investors from inside and outside of the state. Students and professors assist with coaching on business plans and presentations and help prospective investors with due diligence.
Start-Up Weekend is an intense 54-hour event that provides resources, networking, and incentives to participants to support idea development and launch. It is held on the Millsaps campus.
Jackson Tech Start-Up Group
ELSEWorks hosts the Jackson Tech Start-Up Group meetings on campus. This group is focused on fostering the tech community in the central Mississippi region. They include current entrepreneurs, future entrepreneurs, developers, investors, educators, students, and service providers. The meetings are for those interested in starting, growing, working for, investing in, or providing valuable services to technology companies in the Jackson metro area.
