Faith and Work Initiative

The Millsaps Faith and Work Initiative seeks to form students as whole persons by directing their study of social, cultural, religious, and ethical worlds as they contemplate their own lives, ideals, and the meanings they will attribute to their work beyond Millsaps College. Part of that aim is accomplished by engaging students in communities within and beyond Millsaps’ gates through guided internships.

Students undertaking a Faith and Work minor come from all of Millsaps’ divisions: business, natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. Meeting together in the gateway course, The Meaning of Work, and internship discussions, the Faith and Work community is one that seeks to bridge disciplinary boundaries so that diverse students may learn from one another and challenge each other to consider new perspectives.

Talk with the Initiative’s Director, Dr. Shelli Poe, for more information about how to get involved in Faith and Work.
