Janette Sudderth


Janette SudderthJanette Sudderth is a versatile musician who works professionally as a pianist, cellist, and organist. She holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University (double major: piano and 'cello), where she studied cello with Martha Gerschefski and piano with John Schneider. Her Master of Music degree is from Midwestern State University (double major: piano and 'cello). She has had additional study at the University of Texas with the renowned pianist John Perry.

Janette came to Jackson, Mississippi in 1979 to teach strings in the public schools and to play cello in the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.  She has been the accompanist at several local colleges, including Mississippi College, Belhaven College, Jackson State University and Millsaps; and has served as Instructor of Piano at Jackson State University, Millsaps, and Hinds Community College.  She has been organist at churches of various denominations, and is currently the organist/pianist at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church.

Janette has been Principal Cellist in the Wichita Falls (TX) Symphony and is currently the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.  She serves as accompanist for the Millsaps College Department of Performing Arts.
