  • PHYS 4200: Quantum Mechanics (C or better)
  • MATH 3650: Linear Algebra (C or better)
  • MATH 3540: Differential Equations (C or better)

*Prospective majors should take General Physics I (PHYS 2003) and II (PHYS 2013) and General Physics Laboratory I (PHYS 2001) and II (PHYS 2011) no later than the sophomore year.

Students must also complete a comprehensive exam in their major.

Minor in Physics

Students must complete the following courses:

  • *PHYS 2003: General Physics I
  • *PHYS 2001: General Physics Laboratory I
  • *PHYS 2013: General Physics II
  • *PHYS 2011: General Physics Laboratory II
  • PHYS 3000: Modern Physics

In addition, students must also take two PHYS courses beyond the ones * above. The courses must be approved by the Department Chair. (Completion of ASTR 1003 and the associated Lab ASTR 1001 can substitute for one of the courses.)
