Information Technology Services

Welcome to the Future Student portion of the ITS website. Here you will find information particular to inquiring students. If you have any questions, please contact the Helpdesk via email or phone (601-974-1144). 

The latest documentation can be found on our Documentation page. Here you can find specific information on Major Access, as well as instructions on how to connect to our Guest wireless network if you decide to visit campus. If you have any questions about what services you can expect once you're a student here, check out this documentation (in PDF format) on Student Computing at Millsaps.

Of course, if you have any questions about computing at Millsaps, or about services we provide to students, you can always contact the Helpdesk, and we'll be happy to answer them.

ITS User Services - Helpdesk - ITS User Services mans the campus' Helpdesk, the first level of support for network, computer, and telecommunications problems. If you are having trouble accessing your Major Access account, or have questions about the facilities and services offered by the ITS department at Millsaps, the Helpdesk is the place to get your answers.

In extreme emergencies such as a Major Access outage, please contact Millsaps College Campus Safety. They are provided with on-call pager numbers and will contact ITS Technical Services Staff with information. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist with any reports.

ITS Student Computing - Residential Networking Consultants (ResCons) - ITS employees students known as ResCons to act as the first line of support for on-campus students. ResCons are trained to help students get on the internet, gain access to email and personal storage, and install Microsoft Office and anti-virus, as well as assist students throughout the year with malware infections and reformatting computers.

On-campus students at Millsaps first meet their ResCons when they move-in; during that time, ITS staff and student employees are around to help set up your computer and answer your questions. We understand how important it is that you get access to the Internet as fast as possible, and we work diligently to get you connected!

Move In Day Information - When students move in, ResNet staff will be available at The Hub to assist with wireless setup and software installation. Information on The Hub's hours and location will be available at move-in. For the first week of classes, ResNet will continue to staff The Hub for any students who still need assistance. In addition, ResNet's normal office located in New South Hall will be open as well.
