SUWANEE, Ga. -- Rodney Rogan of Millsaps College, a 6-5 junior forward from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14.
Rogan put in his best back-to-back efforts of the season this past weekend while helping the Majors to a 2-0 record in SCAC play. With the victories, Millsaps finds itself in a tie for first place in the league standings alongside Centre and DePauw.
Rogan averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in wins over Oglethorpe and Sewanee. He had a team-high 17 points on 5 of 8 shooting in Friday's 78-76 victory over Oglethorpe and poured in a season-high 21 points on 10 of 18 shooting in the Majors' 77-69 win on Sunday. He shot 57 percent (15-for-26) from the field for the week.
For the season, Rogan is second on the team with 13.5 points per game (13th in the SCAC) (13.5) and 4.9 rebounds per game (19th in the SCAC). He is shooting almost 49 percent from the field (15th in the SCAC) and 67 percent from the charity stripe (13th in the SCAC).
