JACKSON – Millsaps
College has set a date for its second annual "Take A Kid
to the Game" day for Saturday, Feb. 23, where they will
host SCAC nemesis Hendrix College at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Hangar
Dome on the campus of Millsaps.
Area youth are invited to attend this
special event free of charge while enjoying free games, snacks
and in-game give-a-ways. Youth will have the opportunity to experience
the college game-day atmosphere and some exciting action as they
watch the Majors compete for a win over the visiting Warriors.
Millsaps is hosting one of more than
700 games that will be played across the nation as part of the
Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program in its 11th season. The
project is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation's
youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball
games.
"We are thrilled to bring this
back for a second year," athletic director Tim Wise said. "It
is our hope that adults in the community will bring their children
out to experience a collegiate athletic event at Millsaps. Last
year brought a great crowd and we are looking forward to a larger
one this year."
