Martha McDaniel took over the game offensively Wednesday night in the
Hangar Dome as the Rust Bearcats put a scare in the third place (SCAC)
Lady Majors in a one point, 59-58 win. McDaniel finished with a game high
24 points.
The Lady Majors struggled to make baskets in the first half shooting
22 percent, but the Lady Bearcats turned the ball over so often, 23 for
the game, that the Lady Majors were down just 27-25 at the half.
The Lady Bearcats, led by LaDetra Bridges still shot at a 40 percent
clip in the second half, but Miranda Rosar controlled the game in the
paint and finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Bearcats 23 turnovers compared to the Majors 10 may have been
the deciding factor in the game. McDaniel finished with seven rebounds.
Jillian Compton finished with eight points in the win.
The Lady Majors have three SCAC games coming up next week during a five
game road trip. The first, at Oglethorpe, will be a rematch the Stormy
Petrels can look to win after a early season loss in the Hangar Dome
