(Ashley Wilbourn)
After taking an early first half lead, the Millsaps College Lady Majors fell behind the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels and were never able to recover.
Miranda Rosar began the game for the Lady Majors, scoring a lay up after a Martha McDaniel steal to begin the game. By the midpoint of the first half, Oglethorpe had changed Millsaps’ 17-11 lead to a 17-17 tie.
From that point on, Oglethorpe dominated the contest, shooting over 50 percent while also playing strong defensively. Oglethorpe’s defense held the Lady Majors to a shooting percentage of 40 percent for the game.
At halftime, Oglethorpe held a 41-28 advantage. Millsaps was never able to close the large gap, losing the game 97-51.
In the contest, Leslie Frese and Martha McDaniel led the way for Millsaps, scoring 12 points a piece. Frese also had ten rebounds in the game.
The Lady Majors will next face SCAC opponent Centre College on Feb. 3 at Centre.
