MINNEAPOLIS,
Minn. – Senior
DL Denarold Anderson, after tallying a team-high
eight tackles and a sack, has been
named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for the
first time of his career.
Anderson,
a 6-foot-1, 225-pound standout from Edgard, La., becomes just
the second Millsaps DL in the D3football.com TOTW's 7-year history
to garner the weekly award. Casey Younger, his fellow teammate
in 2007, was named to the Team of the Week (Week 6) last year.
The
Millsaps defense has been solid this season, especially in the
trenches, allowing a league-best 7.2 ppg and giving up just 247.2
ypg and only three total TDs through four games.
On
the season, Anderson is t-first on the team in sacks (2.0) and
is t-third in total tackles (22).
The Majors face one of the conference's top teams
in DePauw University (3-0, 2-0 SCAC) on Saturday in Jackson with
