The Millsaps Majors men's golf team posted
some of the best scores as a team in the Mississippi College Invitational
held at Patrick Farms Golf Club in Bandon, MS.
For a team with no seniors, its only junior,
Chuck Graybeal posted the lowest score of the day, 78, aided by
three bidies on the final four holes.
Belhaven finished one stroke ahead of the
Majors taking second place and Louisiana College took first place.
"The team showed great enthusiasm," said first year head
coach Scott Essex. This was the first event of the year with little
time for practice due to the wet weather we have experienced. "I
feel the team has a great chance at having one of their best seasons.
All of the players showed great skill, a good attitude and decorum
under pressure in what was really a rust shake-off event."
Sophomores Daniel Rice and Chad Tobler both carded 80 and freshmen
Michael Ameen and Drew McDowell fired 83 and 84 respectively.
